DANBURY, CT — Two men were arrested following a months-long investigation into suspected illegal drug sales in Danbury, authorities said Thursday.
Wayne Wymss, 42, and Michael Drake, 44, both of Danbury, were arrested Oct. 29 following an investigation by the Danbury Police Department's Special Investigations Division, according to a Nov. 5 police news release.
Detectives had received several complaints about suspected drug use and sales at 7 High St. Extension, police said.
Investigators determined that Wymss was living at the residence and selling illegal drugs from the property, according to police. Detectives also learned that Wymss had an active Connecticut Department of Correction parole warrant.
Police obtained court-authorized search and seizure warrants for Wymss, his cellphone and the residence.
During the search, investigators recovered crack cocaine, powder cocaine, electronic scales, drug paraphernalia and substances used in preparing drugs, according to police.
Drake was among several people inside the residence when police conducted the search. Investigators determined that he had an outstanding warrant for violating probation, police said.
Wymss was arrested on charges of two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also subject to a Department of Correction remand to custody, according to police.
Wymss was held on a $250,000 bond.
Drake was arrested on a charge of violation of probation and held on a $20,000 bond.
