Aquarion Acquires New Fairfield Water Company
Aquarion is also in the process of acquiring New Fairfield's municipal water system.
NEW FAIRFIELD, CT — Aquarion Water Company has announced the acquisition of the Interlaken Water Company in New Fairfield. The acquisition of the system, which provides water to approximately 60 New Fairfield residents, brings the total number of residents in town served by Aquarion to nearly 1,700.
"Aquarion is pleased to have the opportunity to provide even more New Fairfield residents with safe, clean, water," said Charles V. Firlotte, Aquarion's president and CEO in a release.
In addition to the acquisition of the Interlaken Water Company, Aquarion is in the process of acquiring the town of New Fairfield’s municipal water system. The acquisition of the town's municipal system was announced in late 2018 and is currently under review by the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.

"Aquarion's acquisitions in New Fairfield will allow us to leverage our extensive experience to maintain these water systems, make smart investments in infrastructure, and ensure that residents and businesses can count on high-quality water for decades to come," said Firlotte.
Bridgeport-based Aquarion currently supplies water for more than 625,000 people in 52 cities and towns throughout Connecticut, as well as serving customers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. It is the largest investor-owned water utility in New England and among the seven largest in the U.S.
