Behind The Wheel, Engine Running: Danbury Man Charged With DWI In New York

The Putnam County Sheriff's office got a call about a suspicious car at 4:44 a.m.

SOUTHEAST, NY — A Danbury driver who was on the side of the road in New York faces a charge of Driving While Intoxicated.

At about 4:44 a.m. Aug. 7, Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy Ronald Yeager was dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked along North Brewster Road in the Town of Southeast.

Yeager saw a man sitting in the vehicle’s driver’s seat, with the vehicle’s keys in the ignition and the
vehicle’s engine running. He alleges that in his subsequent investigation he discovered that the man, Yerlin Giron, 29, of Danbury, Connecticut, was intoxicated.

Giron was arrested for driving while intoxicated a misdemeanor, and was booked at the Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Carmel, NY.
