A Snapshot of Music Sung at St Peter Church, Danbury: 1875-1912
Come and experience what our church music was like over 100 years ago. As part of our anniversary celebrations, our Music Director, Glen Segger, will be describing some of the music that was sung in our parish liturgies; specifically at its church building dedication in 1875 and on Palm Sunday in 1912. Moreover, our Parish Choir will sing several of these pieces, giving you the opportunity to hear the actual music sung within these walls so many years ago. You will not want to miss this informative and exciting evening. Specific works to be performed include:
Ave Maria ( Gaetano Donizetti)
Veni Creator Spiritus ( Gioachino Rossini)
Alma Redemptoris Mater ( Louis Lambillotte)
Vespers in B flat ( Cassius Clement Stearns)
O Salutaris ( John Wiegand)
The Palms ( Jean-Baptiste Faure)
