Chime In! Handbell Concert to be Held at the Danbury Irish Center

DANBURY, CT -- Join us at the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center (GDICC) for a special night of music and dinner with Chime In! Music with a Mission. ChimeIn! is a handbell choir whose purpose is to "engage people in the joy and sense of community that music fosters through participation and performance."

Through their music, they create and build community through their lively and interactive public performances. The handbell choir is based out of First Church of Bethlehem, and began in 1995 with 36 members learning the art of handbell ringing in three choirs.

"In the spirit of reaching out to all, we often deliver music to our audiences when they cannot come to us. We are a cooperative inter-generational community that continues to grow in membership and musicianship. Our informal style and inclusive approach encourage anyone to be part of our family. We welcome and mentor people of any age and of all ranges of musical ability and experience. We find joy and inspiration in making and sharing music together," according to the groups website.

The dinner and concert takes place on Saturday, April 6th at the GDICC, 6 Lake Avenue in Danbury. The dinner will be at 5 pm, followed by the handbell concert at 6 pm. The buffet dinner, which is $12 per person, includes pork loin, roasted red potatoes, vegetables, bread, salad and dessert. Attendees pay at the door and are welcome to bring a friend. The concert is open to all.
