Coehlo Has the Wrong Priorities to be State Senator
This article discusses Coehlo's support for overturning the 2020 election, and why that should negate her bid for Connecticut State Senate.
As we approach this critical election, it’s important to remember that who we send to the State Senate represents more than just party affiliation—they represent our values, priorities, and trust in the democratic process. That’s why I’m deeply concerned about Republican State Senate candidate Michelle Coelho.
Michelle Coelho’s strong support for Donald Trump is troubling enough, but her donations to Trump’s campaign and to committees that sought to overturn the results of the 2020 Presidential election reveal a deeper issue. In a time when democracy and the peaceful transfer of power are being questioned, we simply cannot afford to elect leaders who would undermine our electoral system just because they dislike the outcome.
Elections are the cornerstone of our democracy, and we deserve a representative who respects the will of the people, even when it’s inconvenient for their political party. Michelle Coelho’s actions suggest she is not committed to this fundamental principle. We need leaders who will fight for our community's priorities, not politicians who would support dishonest efforts to overturn legitimate elections.

Let’s send a clear message: our votes matter, and we need leaders who will protect the integrity of our democracy, not undermine it. Michelle Coelho does not represent these values, and she does not deserve our support.
