Community Baby Shower Open To Danbury-Area Families Set For May

Expectant parents can access free resources, giveaways and a car seat safety clinic at the regional event.

DANBURY, CT — Expectant parents and families with newborns in the Danbury area are invited to a regional community baby shower in May in Waterbury.

The event will run from 3 to 6 p.m. on May 21 a Team, Inc., 25 Rumford St. in Waterbury.

It is open to people living in Greater Waterbury, Litchfield County, Danbury, Cheshire, Newtown, Torrington, Naugatuck and surrounding areas.

The event will include information and resources from community providers and partners that serve expectant and new parents. Participating organizations include WIC, local home visiting programs and Birth to Three.

Attendees can also expect giveaways, door prizes and a car seat safety clinic.

The event is hosted by Wheeler, SEPI-CT and Team, Inc., and is funded by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

The Substance Exposed Pregnancy Initiative of Connecticut (SEPI-CT), administered by Wheeler, connects families with treatment, recovery and support services, including efforts to prevent prenatal alcohol exposure.
