Coronavirus: Furloughs Become Lay-Offs At Danbury Hotel

The management company at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Danbury announced their plans to furlough 56 employees. Those plans have changed.

DANBURY, CT — The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Danbury, through its former management company, has notified the Connecticut Board of Labor and Employment it will be laying off 78 employees.

The letter came as an "update" to another letter from Pyramid Danbury Management written to the Labor Board last month. That notification apprised the State that Pyramid was planning to furlough 56 employees.

In the new advisory, dated April 23 and received by the Labor Board Monday, Pyramid informed the Labor Board that Crowne Plaza would no longer be retaining its services. As the furloughed employees were all employees of Pyramid, they, along with 22 additional Pyramid workers, are being laid off, according to the letter.
