The daily coronavirus positivity rate in CT has dropped to 3.50 percent, down about 1-3/4 points from Monday's 2-month high.
CONNECTICUT — Around 43 percent of the state's 16 and older population has been vaccinated, as it moved into its next reopening phase. Over 1,992,900 doses of the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines have been administered, to over 43 percent of Connecticut residents.
As of Friday, outdoor amusement parks in Connecticut can open with no capacity limit. Other outdoor event venues can increase to a 50 percent capacity, capped at 10,000 people, and indoor stadiums can open at 10 percent capacity.
Coronavirus-associated deaths are down 38 percent across the state the past 14 days, but the percentage of new cases (47 percent) and those hospitalized by the virus (21 percent) has grown over the same period.

The daily coronavirus positivity rate in the state has dropped to 3.50 percent, down about one-and-a-three-quarter points from Monday's 2-month high.
The positivity rate is a function of the daily number of positive COVID-19 cases versus the number of tests. There were 1,542 new confirmed cases reported by the state Department of Public Health on Friday, out of 44,111 tests taken.

There were seven new hospital admissions for COVID-19 recorded, bringing the total number of beds to 499 statewide.
Another 99 cases of the U.K. coronavirus variant were reported by the Connecticut Department of Public Health this week, bringing the total number to 469 in the state. Cases of the Californian variant B.1.427 are up from two to 30, and instances of the Californian B.1.429 have climbed from seven last week to 90.
Cases of the South African variant dropped by one, to six, and the number of Brazilian variant P.1 cases held steady this week at two.
There were 88 cases of the New York variant reported in Connecticut this week, double last week's tally.
Coronavirus variants now being tracked in Connecticut also include another Brazilian, P.2, now at seven cases, and a variant first detected in Africa and Europe, B.1.525, with 10 cases reported in the state.
Connecticut ranks 4th in the nation, behind Michigan, New Jersey and New York, in cases per 100,000 population over the last seven days, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The coronavirus death toll in the state is now 7,904, following four more deaths recorded in the data released Friday.
