CT Grants $2M For New Parking Garage In Danbury
When completed, the new garage will afford more ease and accessibility for patients to Connecticut Institute for Communities
DANBURY, CT — State and city officials have announced that $2 million in state bonding dollars will be allocated to build a two-level garage accommodating roughly 100 parking spaces behind the Greater Danbury Community Health Center.
When completed, the new garage will afford more ease and accessibility for patients to Connecticut Institute for Communities, allowing for more clients to be able to receive healthcare and additional services provided by the center. The organization is located at 120 Main Street in Danbury.
"This $2 million dollar allocation for CIFC will allow the center to serve more patients, children and families, helping facilitate our administration’s goal in creating a more affordable, heathier Connecticut," Bysiewicz said.

CIFC is a 501(C) (3) organization developing opportunities for low and moderate income residents through health and education programs, and housing and economic development projects.
State Rep. Ken Gucker said: "Currently, there are not any free, accessible options for parking for this location– metered parking can be expensive, and the closest garage is not in walking distance. The garage will ensure that individuals have one less thing to consider when visiting. Additionally, in the future, a three-floor senior housing facility will be built on top of the garage. In the midst of a real estate crisis, I am thrilled that we will be able to provide affordable housing in Downtown Danbury to those who need it."
