Cumberland Farms Coming to Danbury

The company is proposing a gas station and convenience store to be built on the dilapidated site on Federal Road next to the Quality Inn.

DANBURY, CT — A Cumberland Farms gas station and convenience store could be coming to the long-vacant and run-down property at 106 Federal Road, the News-Times is reporting.

Th eompany has made a presentation to the city's Planning and Zoning Board, proposing a 5,300-square-foot convenience store, six gas pumps serving up to 12 cars at a time and two 20,000-gallon underground gas storage tanks.

The Westborough, MA, company expects to spend $4 million on the project hire 10 full-time employees, 10 part-time employees and five managers once it opens.

The company has more than 550 total locations across New York, Florida and New England, and 71 locations in Connecticut.

The commission is scheduled to vote on the application during its June 20 meeting.
