Danbury Cheerleaders Shine at FCIAC Championships

DANBURY, CT — In a championship effort, the Danbury High School cheerleaders took first prize at the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference Championships in Wilton this weekend.

Both the varsity and junior varsity squads took first place, with the varsity team also winning the Grand Championship trophy for the highest score of all divisions with 175.9 and the Spirit Award. Juniors Lauryn Menzie and Sydnei Brimage and senior captain Lexi Lucas were named to the All-FCIAC league team.

Menzie took sixth place, Brimage took fourth and Lucas took first price.

The teams are coached by Joann Tatarzycki, Joyce Robbins, Samantha Robbins and Brianne Shepard.
