Danbury Church To Host Annual MLK Day Celebration
Monday is the holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr., with a Danbury church's annual celebration headlining the day's events.
DANBURY, CT — Folks are invited to join the New Hope Baptist Church on Monday, Jan. 19, as they host their annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Remembrance.
Breakfast will be available before the start of the service and ceremony, which is at 10 a.m. at the church, located at 10 Dr. Aaron Samuels Blvd., Danbury.
The program will feature a keynote address by Bishop Brandon Whitfield of Lighthouse Church of God.

"Come together as a community to reflect, celebrate, and honor Dr. King," wrote event organizers in an announcement.

In Danbury, all municipal departments, as well as the Danbury Public Library, will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Danbury Public Schools are also closed on Monday, Jan. 19, with classes resuming as normal the following day on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
