Danbury Coronavirus Update: 1,188 Active Cases, 63 Deaths

Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — Mayor Mark Boughton reported that the death toll from the new coronavirus is now 63. There are 1,188 residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.

For the first time since the pandemic broke out, Connecticut saw a decline in hospitalizations by 18 on Saturday and on Sunday there was another decline of 37 hospitalizations. Officials have said we'll need to see a decline in new hospital admissions for a 14-day period before the state could begin to seriously consider reopening at least in a phased in approach.

Overall there are 17,962 confirmed positive coronavirus cases in Connecticut and an increase of 412 over the past 24 hours. An additional 41 deaths were reported bring that total to 1,127 and the number of hospitalizations declined by 37 and is now at 1,901.
