DANBURY, CT— Dancers from local dancing school, the Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance, recently had the opportunity to perform live with famous children's entertainment group, the Wiggles, when they visited New Jersey on a stop with their "Party Time" tour.
The Wiggles are an Australia based group founded in 1991 and is currently made up of four members including Anthony (in blue), Emma (in yellow), Simon (in red) and Lachy (in purple) with other familiar characters such as Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog and Captain Feathersword. Their talents can be seen on TV on Universal Kids as well as Hulu, YouTube and through iTunes.
The Ashurst Academy dancers performed a traditional Irish dance piece, a light jig, with Emma Wiggle, who is an Irish dancer herself, in front of a sold out crowd of 2,500 at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair. Dancers were Vivian Eaton of Newtown, Adeline Gibowicz of Danbury, Lucy Lowman of Ridgefield and Caroline Morneau of Danbury.
