Danbury Democrats Announce Full Slate of Candidates for November

There are 43 candidates in toto, led by Chris Setaro for mayor and Kate Johnson for city treasurer at the top of the ticket.

DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Democratic Town Committee (DDTC) has unanimously endorsed a full slate of candidates for every city office for the November 5, 2019 municipal election.

"The officers and members of the DDTC are pleased and proud of the Democratic Team that has been assembled for this year’s city election. We have incumbent office holders, veterans and people newer to the electoral political process; people of all ages, races, nationalities and creeds – women and men alike – that represent the mosaic that makes up our city," Chairwoman Andrea Gartner said in a release.

The Democrats are offering a full slate of candidates for every position on the November ballot.

There are 43 candidates, led by Chris Setaro for mayor, Kate Johnson for city treasurer, and Andrea Gartner for town clerk at the top of the ticket. They are followed on the ballot by 21 candidates (including 7 incumbents) for the City Council and 3 candidates (including 3 incumbents) for four-year seats on the Board of Education and 2 candidates for 2 two-year seats on the ballot this year. There are 9 candidates (including 4 incumbents) for regular member positions on the Zoning Commission, 2 candidates for Zoning Commission alternate member posts, and 3 candidates for constable positions (including 2 incumbents).

By ward, the candidates are as follows: Dennis Perkins and George O’Loughlin for 1st Ward; Kirsten Kovacs-Hardy and Elvis Novas for 2nd Ward; Mary Consoli and Carol Thibodeau for 3rd Ward; John Esposito III and Farley Santos for 4th Ward; Duane Perkins and Fred Visconti for 5th Ward; Ben Chianese and Paul Rotello for 6th Ward; and Rich Molinaro and Fidel Hombra for 7th Ward.

At-Large candidates are: incumbent Robert Taborsak; Helena Abrantes; Roberto Alves; Wilson Hernandez; Anjali Illescas; Frank Salvatore and Tim Gaburungyi. Board of Education candidates are: Joe Britton; Kate Conetta; Gladys Cooper; 2-year term candidates are Joseph DaSilva Jr. and Kathy Molinaro.

Zoning candidates are: Sidney Almeida, Candace Fay, Richard Jowdy, James Kelly, Theodore Haddad Jr., Henry Hall, Ryan Hawley, Wayne Skelly; and Zoning Alternates Rolando Castro and Nelson Merchan. Constable candidates are: Butch Coladarci, Francis Kieras and Nicole Cossitt-Levy.
