Danbury Democrats Name New Chair

DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Democratic Town Committee has named a new chairman, in the wake of Roberto Alves stepping down to pursue mayoral ambitions.

Local attorney Larry Riefberg was unanimously elected to the DTC's top spot at a meeting Tuesday night.

"I'm honored to be the new Chair and I’d like to thank Roberto for his leadership and his unwavering dedication to our city," Riefberg said. "As we look at not only the future of Danbury but of the Democratic party, we are ready to take on the failed administration in City Hall, we’re hitting the streets and talking to residents, and we’re going make sure we get out the vote."
