Danbury Farmer’s Market Receives Grant Money

The grant is meant as support for the market's Better Food for Better Health program.

DANBURY, CT — The Fairfield County Community Foundation is providing a $30,000 grant to the CityCenter Danbury Farmer's Market, the News Times has reported.

The grant is meant as support for the market’s Better Food for Better Health. That program matches portions of the government assistance benefits given to low-income families, seniors and veterans, allowing them to stretch dollars spent on local produce. The market will match SNAP benefits up to $25 per week and veterans' and seniors' certificates up to $15 per week.

The Danbury Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday through Oct. 20 at the CityCenter Green, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday through Oct. 20 at the CityCenter Green.
