Danbury Firefighter Injured In Residential Blaze: FD
A Danbury firefighter sustained minor injuries while extinguishing a house fire on Aunt Hack Road Thursday morning.
DANBURY, CT — A Danbury firefighter sustained minor injuries while extinguishing a house fire Thursday morning.
The house was unoccupied, and no other injuries were reported following the fire on Aunt Hack Road.
The Danbury Fire Department was first notified at around 10:15 a.m., and the 911 center received multiple calls reporting flames visible out of a bedroom window as the firetrucks were en route to the scene, according to a statement from the DFD released Thursday afternoon.

The first arriving engine company found a single family home, with heavy fire conditions in one corner of the residence, extending throughout the single family home.
"Despite the intensity of the fire, firefighters were able to quickly advance hose lines to begin extinguishing the fire while other firefighters searched the home for occupants," fire officials said. The fire was brought under control in under 30 minutes.

The City's Office of Emergency Management was on scene coordinating relief efforts for the displaced occupants with the assistance of the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Danbury Fire Marshal's office.
