Danbury Hospital Suspends Visitation As COVID-19 Cases Rise
The new policy will also be in effect at Nuvance Health facilities throughout the area.
DANBURY, CT —Nuvance Health, which operates Danbury Hospital, announced Wednesday that it has temporarily paused visitation, due to a rise in COVID-19 cases. This includes inpatient, emergency departments, medical practices and ambulatory services.
The new policy goes into effect on Thursday, Aug. 19, as both COVID-19 hospitalizations and infection rates have been driven higher by the spread of the more transmissible delta variant.
Exceptions apply for patients under 21, maternity and NICU patients, those with disabilities and in end-of-life circumstances.
