Danbury Irish Cultural Center Raised Over $1,200 for 'Tips for TJ' Benefit

A fundraiser was held Friday, Aug. 29 to raise money for the Sgt. TJ Lobraico, Jr. Scholarship Fund.

The Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center (GDICC) hosted a fundraiser for Staff Sgt. TJ Lobraico who was killed in Afghanistan one year ago.

Lobraico, 22 of Sherman, was born in New Milford and was a 2008 graduate of New Fairfield High School. He comes from an Air National Guard family. His father, Master Sgt. Todd Lobriaco, is a member of the 105th Security Forces Squadron. His mother, Maj. Linda Rohatsch, commands the 105th Medical Group.

His grandfather and sister, along with family and friends, packed the GDICC last Friday for their “Tips for TJ” event. Bartenders Pam Fedigan, Abby Fedigan, Kera Singer and Dean Francis all donated their entire evening of tips to the scholarship fund. Pam’s daughters Abby and Amanda grew up with the Lobraico family in New Fairfield and organized the event in TJ’s honor. Over $1,200 was raised for the fund through tips and raffles.
