DANBURY, CT — Danbury Library will celebrate national Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, honoring the cultural and historical contributions made by Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States.

In recognition, Danbury Library is featuring specially curated book lists for all ages from Hispanic and Latino authors. Visitors are invited to explore and enjoy Hispanic Heritage Month media experiences from Hoopla, Overdrive and Kanopy for free with their library cards. These digital selections include films, books, and music in both Spanish and English.

Throughout the celebration, Danbury Library will host programming for children, families and adults, including crafting Muñeca quitapenas (traditional Mayan worry dolls), blanket weaving, and Panama paper molas. On Oct. 9 at 7 p.m., guests may join a virtual author talk with Silvia Moreno-Garcia, bestselling author of several novels including "Mexican Gothic," "The Daughter of Doctor Moreau," and her newest book, "The Seventh Veil of Salome."
