Danbury Library Hosts Seminars for Entrepreneurs

DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Library, SCORE of Western Connecticut, and Berkshire Broadcasting are partnering to provide three upcoming workshops to entrepreneurs and small business owners in October, November, and December.

Starting off will be the 4-part “Project Management” workshop for those who manage big, small, simple or complex projects or those wanting to learn more about it. Danbury resident, IT and project management professional Jayant Bardalai will teach participants about the “process driven approach” as well as the guidelines and best practices for project management, per the Project Management Institute. The series will be conducted on Oct. 25, Nov. 1, 8 and 15 from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Participants must be able to attend all four sessions.

The second program, “Introduction to Podcasting: Boost Your Business,” will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 5-7 p.m. with Ben Bogardus, assistant professor at Quinnipiac University conducting the workshop. He will explain what a podcast is, how it can be used for business promotion, provide examples of business podcasts and illustrate simple ways to record, edit and distribute podcasts.

The final workshop is targeted for those interested in the food industry. “Opening and Operating a Successful Restaurant” will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Mark Moeller, president of The Recipe of Success will make his third trip back to the Danbury Library for this highly attended workshop. Among the topics to be covered will be the two critical ingredients to create a successful restaurant, the financials of starting a restaurant, and the physical planning of a restaurant.
