Danbury Man Attempts to Break into Ex's Home, Punches Cop

Police said he was violating an order of protection.

Police subdued a Danbury man Sunday after he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home.

However, that was after the man allegedly punched an officer in the head, according to an article in the Danbury News Times.

Danbury police said Jeffrey Lockhart, 46, tried to break into the home around 12:30 a.m., in violation of an order of protection the woman had against him.

The woman’s current boyfriend attempted to warn Lockhart that he would be shot if he tried to come in the apartment and they began to fight.

Lockhart ran off after the fight, the News Times said, but returned and punched the officer who stayed with the couple.

Lockhart was charged with third-degree assault, assaulting personnel, two counts of second-degree burglary, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and violating a protective order.
