Danbury Man Charged With Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend During Home Invasion In Stratford: Police

The suspect allegedly pistol-whipped his ex-girlfriend while attempting to rob her and her new boyfriend, according to police.

STRATFORD, CT — A Danbury man is accused of attempting to rob his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend during a home invasion Wednesday morning in Stratford, according to police. Stratford Police officers responded to a reported home invasion/robbery on River Bend Road at about 9 a.m.

Jeffrey Bispo, 19, of Danbury, is accused of entering his ex-girlfriend’s residence and attempting to rob her and her new boyfriend, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti.

Eannotti said Bispo fled the scene with an “unidentified accomplice after a neighbor intervened and allowed the victim to flee and call the police.”

Bispo was allegedly armed with a gun during the incident and the victim told police that he struck her in the neck and face with the weapon, according to Eannotti.

Bispo left in a 2008 Saturn Outlook that was registered to his mother, who lives in Danbury. Bispo was located and arrested by Danbury Police officers.

Bispo was charged with home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault with a firearm, sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and disorderly conduct. He was held on a $250,000 bond.
