Danbury Man Killed In Crash With Tractor Trailer On I-84: State Police

A 20-year-old Danbury man died when his Chevrolet Silverado collided with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in Waterbury Thursday night.

DANBURY, CT — A 20-year-old Danbury man died when his Chevrolet Silverado collided with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in Waterbury Thursday night.

Zachary James Carlson of Francis Road was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Connecticut State Police. The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by Trinity EMS for evaluation.

The crash occurred around 20 minutes after 8 p.m., westbound on I-84, near Exit 23. Carlson "failed to slow down due to traffic thus striking the rear end" of the tractor trailer, according to the state police report.
