Danbury Man Killed in New York Metro-North Train Crash

The six victims in the crash were identified Wednesday.

A Danbury man has been identified as one of the victims in the collision between a Metro-North train and an SUV Tuesday night in Westchester County, New York.

Tomar Aditya, 41, of Danbury, was one of the last three victims identified Wednesday evening by Westchester County officials.

Also identified were New York residents Joseph Nadol, 42, of Ossining and Robert Dirks, 36, of Chappaqua.

The three victims identified earlier Wednesday were: Bedford residents Walter Liedtke and Eric Vandercar and Edgemont resident Ellen Brody, the driver.

Ridgefield’s Fred Buonocore was also on the train but survived the fiery crash because he wasn’t sitting in the front car as he normally does, according to NBC Connecticut.

Buonocore told NBC that he was running late and had to run to catch the train and hurried into a middle car.
