Danbury Massage Parlor Accused Of Illegal Sexual Services Permanently Closed

Mayor Roberto Alves says the city has ended a longtime business' operations following concerns about illegal activity.

DANBURY, CT — A longtime Lake Avenue massage parlor accused of operating without a license and offering illegal sexual services has been permanently closed following an agreement with city officials, Mayor Roberto Alves announced Monday.

The agreement involves SN Spa Inc. and Zena Spa 68 Inc., which operated at 68 Lake Ave.

The city filed a lawsuit against the businesses in July, accusing them of operating without required health department licenses and offering illegal sexual services, according to court documents.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Alves said the establishment had operated for decades under grandfathered zoning protections, despite longstanding concerns about its operations and impact on the surrounding community.

“When I took office, I made a commitment to confront longstanding challenges head-on, even when the solutions aren’t easy,” Alves wrote.

The mayor thanked city departments and others involved in bringing the matter to a resolution.

He said the closure was part of a broader effort to address longstanding neighborhood concerns and improve residents’ quality of life.
