Danbury Mayor Reacts to Recent Immigration Executive Orders from Trump
Danbury had previously participated in the program until it was halted by the Obama administration.

DANBURY, CT - President Trump’s executive orders on immigration has been met with both caution and defiance by Danbury mayor Mark Boughton, the Danbury News Times reported.
The reaction came Wednesday on the heels of Trump’s announcement of reinstating the Secure Communities program, according to the Danbury News Times. The program gives greater power to local law enforcement in regards to immigration laws.
Danbury had previously participated in the program from 2010 until 2014 when it was halted by the Obama administration, the Danbury News Times reported. Boughton said the program was successful in Danbury, but is unsure if the city still needs it.
