Danbury Middle School Chief Names Outstanding 1st-Year Principal
Frank LaBanca will be honored in a November ceremony.

A Danbury school principal has been named Outstanding First-Year Principal for 2015-16.
Frank LaBanca, who has been principal of Westside Middle School Academy since it opened last year, will receive the award from the Connecticut Association of Schools in November, according to the Danbury News Times.
LaBanca, a Sandy Hook resident, was formerly the director of the Center for 21st Century Skills at Education Connection.

He is has an educational doctorate in instructional leadership from Western Connecticut State University, the News Times said.
