Danbury Motorcyclist Killed in Crash at Mall: Police
The collision is under investigation by the Danbury Police Department's Traffic Division.

DANBURY, CT -- A motorcyclist struck a car and was killed on Thursday morning while riding near the entrance to the Danbury Fair Mall.
The Danbury Police Department responded to a call about a serious motor vehicle accident at around 7:07 p.m. on Thursday, August 9. Officers on the scene found that a motorcycle had collided with a car near the west entrance to the Danbury Fair Mall, 7 Backus Avenue.
Police say that a preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the motorcycle, 25-year-old Samuel Hyde of Danbury, was operating his Honda CBR 954RR motorcycle at a high rate of speed, westbound on Backus Avenue when the motorcycle stuck the car. The operator of the car, 64-year-old Roberto Romero, of Brewster, NY was driving a 2008 Honda CRV. Ambulance personnel treated Hyde at the accident scene and transported him to the Danbury Hospital, where he later died.
