Danbury Music Centre Offers Ensembles for String Players

The Danbury Music Centre has opportunities and openings for players of orchestral string instruments.

The Danbury Community Orchestra is a true community orchestra that welcomes young as well as experienced musicians to play together in a supportive and artistically adventurous environment. Repertoire is diverse and the orchestra performs 2-3 concerts each season. The group rehearses on Saturdays from 10:30am-12:00pm. Music Director & Conductor, Stephen Michael Smith will be holding auditions on Saturday, 9/17 by appointment. Find out more and request an audition here. The Danbury Centre Strings provides a challenging, exciting, educational ensemble experience for string players. Members will study standard string repertoire appropriate to their level of playing. They will develop playing technique, listening skills, orchestral technique, and ensemble experience. The group rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm. Rehearsals begin Thursday, 9/13. The Danbury Music Centre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located on Danbury’s Main Street. Since 1935 we have been providing classical community music experiences through our ensembles and events. Our programs include: Danbury Concert Chorus, Danbury Symphony Orchestra, Danbury Community Orchestra, Danbury Centre Strings, DMC Community Band, Nutcracker, Summer Enrichment Programs- Summer Bands, Summer Strings and Chamber Music Intensive.
