Danbury Officials Investigate Possible Food Poisoning Outbreak

The investigation comes after complaints from diners at a popular Danbury restaurant last weekend.

DANBURY — Health inspectors are investigating a possible food poisoning outbreak in the city following complaints from diners who ate at Barbarie’s Black Angus Grill last weekend, the News Times is reporting.

The first complaints were received Wednesday, and the health department has been working with the restaurant, located at 5 Eagle Road, ever since to determine whether food served or some kind of contamination at the establishment may be the cause of several reported illnesses.

Health officials have said it is too early to determine the source of the diners' illnesses. Investigators are trying to retrace the affected diners’ weekends before and after their meals at Black Angus to determine if there is any other experience in common.
