Coronavirus Danbury: Parade Canceled, Events Postponed

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton has announced a number of plans intended to help reduce the spread of the new coronavirus.

DANBURY, CT — Mayor Mark Boughton has announced plans intended to help reduce the spread of the new coronavirus.

  • All Danbury Public Schools are postponing/canceling any event that will draw large groups of people. Plays, musicals, concerts will be postponed, or steps will be taken to modify how their performance is delivered, such as a twitch feed performed without an audience.
  • The Danbury St. Patrick's Day Parade, and flag raising, have been canceled.
  • The Danbury Volunteer Fireman's Ball scheduled for this Saturday night has been postponed to April 18.
  • Although all Danbury Public School sporting events will go on as scheduled, the mayor has requested no spectators attend.

Danbury Public Schools will remain open.
