Danbury Parent Says 5-Year-Old Left School Unsupervised

The kindergartner left school a half-hour without supervision, according to the complaint

DANBURY, CT — A parent has filed a complaint with the school system that claims her unsupervised 5-year-old son walked out of school early, the New-Times is reporting.

The incident occurred Thursday around 3 p.m., a half-hour before dismissal is scheduled, when the grandmother of Jionni Solis observed the boy riding his bicycle home from South Street School.

Alison Solis, mother of the student, has filed a complaint with the superintendent, assistant superintendent, school principal, district safety and security coordinator, Department of Children & Families and the district’s Family & Community Engagement Center.

Schools Superintendent Sal Pascarella told the News-Times the matter is under investigation and more information will be made available Monday.
