Danbury Partners With Red Cross To Assess Storm Damage
Officials will be visiting Danbury's hardest hit areas throughout the weekend to help assess community needs.

The City of Danbury has partnered with the American Red Cross to assess damage in our neighborhoods as a result of heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding on August 18, 2024. Red Cross officials and translators from the City of Danbury Department of Health & Human Services will be visiting our hardest hit communities throughout the weekend to help assess community needs. Additionally, the Red Cross will be distributing clean up kits and water at Danbury City Hall on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 11AM - 3PM.

The Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Division of Emergency Management has created a self-reporting link for the public to report damages to homes and businesses. The portal will enable the state to gather comprehensive information regarding the damages incurred and identify where to direct damage assessment teams.

The Connecticut Department of Agriculture is also asking producers who experienced losses during the heavy rainfall to report them through their survey.
