Danbury PD Investigate Children Sickened By Suspected Marijuana Candy
Police are investigating an incident at Rogers Park Middle School where students fell ill after eating a chocolate bar.

DANBURY, CT — Police are investigating an incident at Rogers Park Middle School where students became ill after consuming a chocolate bar which may have contained marijuana.
Between 10 and 15 students ate pieces of the "Wonka Bar" which three other students distributed, according to police. The bars are commercially manufactured edibles containing medical marijuana (THC).
"We have seized what's left of one of these edible bars and are confident it was at least partially responsible for the reaction experienced by the students," Det. Lt. Mark Williams said in a statement. "While we have not confirmed the presence of THC, we will be attempting to do so through testing."

According to the report, police have identified those responsible for bringing the suspected marijuana edible to the school, but the investigation will be ongoing until they determine how the three students acquired it.
"To the best of our knowledge, all of the children involved were treated, released, and doing ok," Williams said.
