Danbury Police Arrest Man Suspected of Drug Dealing
After spending several weeks corroborating the complaints from residents, the police obtained search and seizure warrants

DANBURY, CT — Police arrested a man on drug charges after a weeks-long investigation.
Following complaints from residents, police began an investigation into the activity of Simao “Simon’ Ferraz, of Town Hill Avenue in Danbury. After spending several weeks corroborating the complaints, the police obtained search and seizure warrants for the person of Ferraz, and his residence, which they executed on Friday.
At approximately 3:10 p.m., police attempted to apprehend Ferraz as he was walking on State Street, after witnessing him engaging in suspected drug transactions in the area, according to the police report. When cops approached him, they say they saw Ferraz remove suspected drugs from his pocket and placing them in his mouth. Ferraz physically resisted police efforts to take him into custody and to retrieve the object from his mouth, according to the report.

After securing Ferraz on State Street, police then executed the second search warrant at his residence. Based on both searches, police report that they seized a small quantity of cocaine, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.
After being treated at the Danbury Hospital for minor injuries sustained during resisting and ingesting the suspected drugs, Ferraz was transported to the Danbury Police Department where he was processed. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, interfering with a search warrant, and destruction of evidence. Bond was set at $10,000.
