Danbury Police Charge Teen With Threatening School Shootings
The texts warned of a shooting at Danbury High School, police said.
DANBURY, CT — Police arrested a teen who they said threatened several Danbury High School students with violence and warned of a shooting at the school.
Police first received word of the threatening communications on Nov. 26. The texts, which police say they were able to trace back to a 17-year-old Danbury boy, advised several students not to attend school on Nov. 27 as they would be the targets of a shooting at the school that day.
"An investigation was conducted by the Danbury Police Department General Investigations Division with assistance from the Danbury High School Resource Officers as well as the Danbury High School Administration," said Det. Sgt. Adam Marcus. Through numerous search warrants, interviews and other investigative techniques, the police were able to identify the source of the texts.
