Danbury Police ID Homicide Victim
Police have identified the man who was shot and killed in the area of Beaver and Elm Streets in Danbury on Sunday.
DANBURY, CT — Police have identified the man who was shot and killed in the area of Beaver and Elm Streets on Sunday.
Raymond Irvin Simmons, 39, of Waterbury, was attending a candlelight vigil/celebration of life for a deceased friend when he was shot and killed, police are reporting. Simmons had several ties to Danbury, according to police.
"The incident is not believed to have been indiscriminate, and there is no belief that the general public is currently at risk by the assailant," Det. Lt. Mark Williams said.
