Danbury Police Log: Assault, Robbery, Assault

Danbury police charge one man with nine different charges Wednesday after a car accident, ATM robbery and a purse snatching.

In what reads like a one-man, one-day crime spree, Danbury Police charged Jason Thomas Bonadio, 27, of Waterbury, with nine charges that stemmed from a car crash, a purse snatching and a robbery at an ATM.

Police said they were investigating a car accident on Stadley Rough Road Wednesday at about 5:25 p.m., in which one of the cars fled the scene. Shortly after that, police responded to a 911 call that a man had snatched an elderly woman's purse at the Danbury Square Mall in front of Barnes & Nobel Booksellers.

Two hours later, a man withdrew $300 from an ATM at the Bank of America on Main Street, when a second man who had been standing behind him grabbed the money out of his hand, or nearly half of it. The man who grabbed the money tore it in half, so what he ran away with was half of $280. The victim had the other half of the bills.
