Danbury Police Arrest 3 More In Fatal Skate Park Stabbing

Two men and a juvenile were charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Willy Placenia last month at a Danbury skate park

DANBURY, CT — Police have charged three more people in connection with a fatal stabbing at a local skate park last month.

Nykeem Hawkins, 18, Kenaas Council, 19, and an unnamed 15-year-old, all from Danbury, were arrested "without incident," according to Det. Sgt. Adam Marcus. The arrests stem from the death of Willy Placencia, 21, of Danbury, who was found severely injured March 18 at the Danbury Skate Park. He had multiple stab wounds and was taken to Danbury Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Two other Danbury residents were charged in connection with the case last month.

Hawkins, arrested Friday, was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit manslaughter, first-degree conspiracy to commit assault, second-degree conspiracy to commit assault, second-degree assault and breach of peace. Council, arrested Monday, was charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit assault and breach of peace. The juvenile, arrested Monday, was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit assault, second-degree conspiracy to commit assault and breach of peace.

Hawkins was held on a $100,000 bail and Council was held on $10,000 bond. The juvenile was remanded to custody. Hawkins and Council are scheduled to appear at state Superior Court in Waterbury May 13.

"As this continues to be an ongoing and active investigation, court documents related to the case remain temporarily sealed," Marcus said.
