Danbury Police Thank Public Following Return of Walmart Lot Money

The money was turned in by a Good Samaritan on June 30.

DANBURY, CT -- The police have announced they received a call from the rightful owner of the "substantial sum of money" that was found by a Good Samaritan, on June 30, 2018, at 67 Newtown Road, the parking lot of Walmart.

The owner of the money made an inquiry with store personnel, but left before it had been reported found, or leaving any contact information with the store personnel.

Police took to social media to ask for the public's help locating the owner. They thanked their followers on Facebook following the successful recovery.

To protect the privacy of the Good Samaritan and the owner of the money, they will not be releasing either persons' name.
