Danbury Proton online public hearing scheduled for Friday, April 22

A public hearing on Danbury Proton's appeal of the Connecticut Office of Health Strategy's proposed denial of the project's Certificate Of Need (CON) application will be held on Friday, April 22 at 10 am. A month ago, Danbury Proton filed an official appeal document, which addresses OHS' review comments. The online Zoom hearing is the last opportunity for Danbury Proton to be heard in the OHS appeal process. No subject matter expert testimony or public comments will be allowed, but interested parties will be able to watch the proceedings. First announced in April of 2020, Danbury Proton is a revolutionary $80+ million proton therapy cancer treatment center proposed for 85 Wooster Heights on the city's booming West Side. After 2-1/2 years of waiting, a comparable proton therapy center in Wallingford received CON approval on April 7.

Danbury Proton looks expectantly toward a CON approval from OHS following its consideration of the points to be made at the hearing next Friday.
