DANBURY, CT — Radio listeners in the Greater Danbury area can now enjoy the work of Selena, Maluma, Marc Anthony and other Spanish music pop stars on their own local station.

Danbury-based Berkshire Broadcasting Corporation's WAXB-AM switched to all Spanish adult hits last week, and has rebranded itself as "Juan 850AM." CEO and president Irv Goldstein said Hispanics account for 16 percent of Nielsen's total Danbury market, and have an "ever increasing buying power and a strong loyalty to radio."

The station's signal covers Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven counties, New York's Putnam, Westchester and Dutchess counties, as well as the north shore of Long Island, according to radio trade Radio Online.
