Danbury Ranks As Second Best City in US

The report does state that the best places to live are not always the most affordable.

Danbury has been named the second best city in the U.S. in which to live.

24/7 Wall St. looked at 550 cities with a population of 65,000 or more per the U.S. Census Bureau, USAToday reported.

Danbury came up second, with only Meridian, Idaho, besting it.

24/7 Wall St. did have a caveat, though.

It said, “The best places to live are not necessarily affordable.”

The report said the cost of living is almost a third higher than the national average, and housing costs 58 percent more than the nationwide average.

Highlights of the city, 24/7 Wall St. said, were the 10 nature parks and 57 marinas per 100,000 area residents.

The 24/7 Wall St.-USAToday article comes on the heels of WalletHub’s rankings of 1,268 small cities in the United States.

WalletHub place Danbury as No. 560, based on 22 different metrics, including affordability, economic health, education and health and quality of life.
