Danbury’s 4th Of July Fireworks 2020 Canceled

Danbury's traditional Fourth of July events may be canceled, but nothing's stopping you from enjoying a socially distanced picnic...

DANBURY, CT – July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including Danbury.

Most years, Hat City residents are able to enjoy two fireworks displays. The first, sponsored by the city and Volunteer Fire Department, above Candlewood Lake, and another at the Danbury Fair Mall SummerStage. Both have been long canceled, with Mayor Mark Boughton delivering the bad news about the Candlewood show back on April 13.

Due to the pandemic, counties or cities may adjust or cancel events at the last minute. Check your event before you go. Know of other events in the area? Post them on the Patch calendar or share details on our free Neighbor Post feature.
