Danbury School System Goes On A Space Odyssey

Danbury students explored NASA's Artemis mission through hands-on STEM lessons with the Space Foundation recently.

DANBURY, CT — Students across Danbury Public Schools took part in a week of hands-on STEM learning through a districtwide partnership with the Space Foundation.

The program, part of the foundation’s “Space in the Community” initiative, brought space-focused lessons and activities into classrooms throughout the district last week.

According to Danbury Public Schools, the experience centered on real-world science and technology, including exploration of NASA’s Artemis program.

Members of the Space Foundation’s Space Workforce Team led the sessions, connecting classroom learning to current developments in space exploration and related career pathways.

Students also had opportunities to connect with Winston Scott, a retired U.S. Navy captain and former NASA astronaut.

District officials expressed gratitude to the Space Foundation and the Petit Family Foundation for supporting the initiative, citing their continued partnership in expanding STEM learning opportunities for Danbury students.
