DANBURY, CT — A Danbury teacher will receive a $5,000 stipend to help guide her students in scientific research.
Andrea LaRosa, a teacher at Westside Middle School Academy, is among 84 educators from across the United States to share in the $274,000 awarded by the Society for Science. Educators participating in the Society’s Advocate Program work with students from underrepresented groups and from low-income households by helping them to develop STEM projects that can then be entered into science research competitions.
