Danbury Seeks to Appeal Sports Dome Decision

Danbury officials plan to appeal a judge's decision to hear claims from the Danbury Dome owners alleging delays in issuing a permit.

DANBURY -- The latest chapter in the long drama between the city of Danbury and the owner of the Danbury Sports Dome has just unfolded. Superior Court Judge Edward Krumeich ruled last week that the owners did not properly appeal what they saw as delays to the building permit, but he also agreed to hear the owners' complaints about delays in issuing a permit for the foundation, the News-Times has reported.

The legal dispute between the city and the sports complex ownership dates back to May 2015 when the dome owners first sued Danbury for mandating additional tests, redesign and construction which the suit says cost ownership an additional $380,000 in construction and $1.5 million in lost revenue.
